On September 6, 2008, just after Richard LaBouliere had landed his state record Black Driftfish, Scott Anderson was taking his turn on the reel. As luck would have it, Scott brought up a snowy grouper weighing 8.25 Lbs. Not an extraordinary fish in size, but since there was no snowy grouper listed in the electric reel category, his fish became the first state record for such, and the second state record catch for Scott.

On the first trip for 2009, Rick Gaido was on the electric reel and beat Scott’s record by over 3lbs with his first state record fish, a Snowy weighing 11lb 5oz.

During a trip in September 2010, Rick Gaido brought up a large fish from about 850′ which we all thought was a warsaw grouper. However, a count of the dorsal spines revealed that it had 11 spines, making it a new state record Snowy Grouper. The fish weighed 25lbs 10oz. We will be checking future “warsaw” much more carefully.
