On the same trip when Darrell Bezecny and Rick Gaido landed state records, John Billings managed to land this 6lb 3oz blueline tilefish on rod and reel. Originally TP&W identified this as a blackline tilefish, but after further research declared this to be a blueline tilefish. There was no previous entry in the state record book for this species, so John achieved the Rod & Reel and Water Body records for this species of tilefish.

Just a couple of months later, on September 11, 2010; Rick Gaido brought up a 6lb 3oz Blueline as well, but his was on the electric reel. This gives Rick his 4th state record.

Less than an hour later, Ed Dorsey boated an even larger Blueline, 8lb 13oz, capturing both the electric reel and water body record for this species

And finally, on the final trip made by the Possession Limit, Trevin Eckersley landed the 44th and final state record to come over the gunnel… an 8lb 10oz Blueline which he caught using rod and reel.
